Not really new. I still have a drawing way back 15 years ago when I sketched something like that out in graduate school (on a beam bike which I also designed...I just was never able to expend the effort to find a good Ti welder or learn myself). At the time I sent in a note to Quintana Roo (Dan) to see if there was any interest in using it (I wasnt selling anything, just suggesting something that I though would make sense), but was quickly rebuffed. I have also spoken to others who have thought of this stuff long before I did as well. I guess it takes a while for things to work their way into acceptance.

If you are too far ahead of the curve, no one will see what you are doing there.

So....personally, I think it is pretty cool, and a good idea.
